Hydraulic Pump Redesign & Release – Genie (Terex)
Role: Design engineering, ECO management, supplier collaboration | 2024
As a design engineer intern, I played a key role in the redesign and implementation of a new hydraulic pump system for one of Genie’s boom lift models—directly addressing recurring pump failures in the field. The project involved integrating a new, internally-developed pump design, updating all documentation, and coordinating testing and supplier hand-off.

Key Contributions
- Released all new components via Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), including part creation, BOM updates, and service part assignments.
- Produced new drawings and hose routing plans in SolidWorks and DraftSight; updated MCS (Machine Certification Standard) manuals.
- Worked directly with global suppliers (including China) to ensure smooth prototyping and hand-off.
- Participated in machine certification testing of the new pump system to validate performance and reliability.
- Advanced the project significantly towards completion before handoff.
Skills: SolidWorks, DraftSight, ECO process, hose routing, supplier communication, machine certification, technical documentation.
